The adelete command doesn't work when you wield an item before trying to delete it. It doesn't give the "You casually wave your hand and a sword disappears." but it does give the "Sword(|91b61596-2c51-b63d-654a-4d822facc170) deleted." message. After you unwield it, the same thing happens when you try to delete it. If you drop it and try to delete it, you still only get the second deletion message, but it does manage to delete it.
